Tips to Get the Best Deals
for Flights to Vancouver

Looking for the best deals for flights to Vancouver International airport?

There are many ways to check for good flight offers (and/or all-inclusive vacation packages).

You can get quotes from a local travel agent in your home town, or search directly on the sites of your preferred airlines, one at a time (and hope you find the best or cheapest deals available on the 'net!), to make your own flight reservations online.

Use Travel Aggregators to Search Online

Another alternative is to use travel aggregators (multiple search engines for travel) instead.

Travel aggregators/search engines will search through multiple travel sites for your flight preferences, and list the airlines and flights that meet your criteria, in your search results. They are excellent for finding reasonably-priced flights and last minute travel deals for flights to Vancouver, and other popular destinations.

See how they work here:

Reminders

This is also a good time to also add a reminder to check that your intended flights are destined for Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (airport code: YVR) and NOT Vancouver, Washington! The cities are just a few hundred miles apart, but in different countries...

Read the Fine Print Carefully...

Although you can get some really good deals through these travel search engines, ensure that you are aware of all the fine print and restrictions, etc., especially for cancellations or changes to your confirmed travel reservations.

Connecting Flights?

If you cannot book a non-stop flight from your departure airport directly to Vancouver, ensure that you have sufficient time to make your connecting flights. This is very important if your are booking your own flights online. Airlines often have unforseen delays in their scheduled flights, so make allowances for problems like flight delays, and having to change terminals for your connecting flights.

Benefits of Using a Travel Agent

For international flights to Vancouver, it may be a better option for you to consult with a travel agent. Registered travel agents have the training, knowledge and expertise to advise you about international travel arrangements, as well as any passport and visa requirements, for entry to Canada.

For international flights to or from Vancouver, personally I prefer to use the services of a travel agent.

With the competitive state of the travel industry these days, travel agents also need to quote good rates, and they will often do a lot of research to get you the best deals for your Vancouver vacations and flights. The travel agents we used were immensely helpful when making our our own travel arrangements. They ensured that our flights, connections and land arrangements worked well for us. They also give us lots of travel tips and advice, about travelling with children, to help ease the very tiring long distance flights. If you would like a recommendation or referral to an experienced travel agent to assist with your travel arrangements, contact us here.

I wish you all the best in finding the best flights to Vancouver!
